It’s almost here — but not quite yet! If you haven’t started planning, don’t panic. You have time. (And you’re not alone!) You don’t have to be completely ready either. Lent is a marathon, not a sprint.
However, hopefully this email will get your gears turning and give you a few plans!
RECIPE
Make this recipe this week! It is on my menu and so, so, so good! (Tip: Save it for Bright Week too and add in some meat!)
HOME
Make a meal matrix for Lent. My next episode is all about this — it comes out on Monday! But basically, collect all your recipes and put them in categories. Make a list of recipes for each category. From that you can plan week by week, or all of Lent at once!
Also, make a list of common ingredients, and snacks, and stock up. For us this includes lots of beans, canned tomato products, nuts, peanut butter, hummus, chips, salsa, and coconut milk and coconut oil.
To help, use my meal matrix and meal planning forms I made! There are three designs for you to choose from.
SILENCE
Throughout this series I’m going to be encouraging you to take some time each day to sit in silence. For this week, determine when a good time for you to do that is. Decide what you will use as a timer (tip: I recommend it not be your phone), and what will be your aid (a prayer rope, beaded bracelet, etc.).

Reflect on where you are spiritually and one area you’d like to grow in this Lent. What can you do to facilitate that?

ANALOG ACTIVITY
Think about times of the day you are on your phone the most and make a note to prepare to do a different activity during one of those times.
